    An Outlook on Emerging Markets

Emerging markets have suffered a downturn in 2018. The threat and then reality of a trade war, accompanied by a strengthening dollar, have contributed to a bear market. Currencies have weakened in the vast majority of developing nations. Many market participants have been holding off investing amid the recent volatility. However, in his presentation, Mark Mobius provides an outlook on emerging markets that is far from gloomy. The recent crisis has created great opportunities: Valuations are low and devaluated currencies offer attractive prices for overseas investors. At the same time emerging and frontier markets continue to be the fastest-growing economies in the world. Cutting-edge innovation today is often coming from the developing world. Especially many small and mid-cap companies offer an above average growth potential for active investors.
